Tyrone Combs, better known by his stage name Junky T, is a captivating DJ artist with a remarkable journey that has shaped his unique musical style. Born in Seoul, South Korea, and primarily raised in Detroit, Michigan, and Gary, Indiana, Tyrone’s upbringing was marked by constant relocation due to his father’s military service.

This exposure to various locations introduced him to a diverse range of musical genres, leaving an indelible impact on his artistic development.Tyrone’s deep connection with music began at a tender age of 5 when he started playing the flute, clarinet, drums, and viola.He further honed his skills and passion by actively participating in his local church as a Sound Technician, Backup Drummer, and Backup Bass Guitarist, dedicating a decade to serving the congregation.

It was during his time in the Army that Tyrone’s path intersected with the art of DJing.Stationed in different locations, he discovered the world of DJing and embraced it wholeheartedly. Tyrone’s journey into DJing began with humble equipment consisting of two Realistic Turntables and a RadioShack Mixer.

Spending countless hours beat matching vinyl records, he developed a deep appreciation for the warm cracking sound and the unmistakable aroma of vinyl.Tyrone’s DJing ventures have taken him across the United States, from Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi, to Huntsville, Alabama, and the picturesque North Shore and Honolulu in Hawaii.Currently residing in Florida, he has also showcased his talent in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and even ventured into Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Starting with genres like Trance and Breakbeats, Tyrone’s musical journey soon expanded to encompass various forms of house and techno.However, his true passion lies in delivering an energizing fusion of Funky, Disco, House, and Breaks that electrifies the crowd and gets everyone moving to the rhythm.Despite facing numerous challenges, including the loss of equipment due to divorce, adversity, theft, and destruction, Tyrone’s unwavering dedication to his craft persevered.

His resilience culminated in the release of his singles “Get Up Get Down” in September 2023 and “Base Six” in June 2023, marking a significant milestone in his career.Currently undergoing dialysis treatments three times a week due to kidney failure, Tyrone’s indomitable spirit remains undeterred.He draws inspiration from his experiences, including a three-month hospital stay on the brink of death, which inspired the upcoming EP titled “Lifeline.”
